PUBLIC, PRIVATE SECTOR ORGANIZATIONS SELECT VERDIEM TO INCREASE IT ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND GENERATE SIGNIFICANT SAVINGS

Company Reaches More Than 300,000 Licenses; Users Save Approximately $6 Million,
Cut Greenhouse Gas Emissions by More Than 9,000 Metric Tons Annually

Seattle - Dec. 11, 2006 - Verdiem, the leading developer of power management software for PC networks, today announced that a broad range of public and private sector organizations has selected the company's Surveyor software to help reduce power consumption of networked PCs. Baltimore Public Schools, the City of Boston, Madison Metropolitan School District, the National Institutes of Health, Quad Graphics, the State of California Department of General Services and Trojan Battery are among the customers poised to reap significant energy and cost savings as a result of their decision to deploy Verdiem Surveyor in the last six months.

"The increased focus on energy efficiency and sustainability across all industries and markets has raised awareness of the need for a solution like Surveyor," said Kevin Klustner, chief executive officer, Verdiem. "Our rapidly expanding roster of customers demonstrates the value our technology brings to organizations looking to save money and help the environment."

As a result of their Surveyor implementations, these organizations are expected to cut energy consumption by approximately 200 kWh per PC per year. With more than 300,000 PCs currently using Surveyor, Verdiem and its customers are helping to eliminate IT energy waste. Annual customer use of Verdiem technology cuts greenhouse gas emissions at a rate equal to taking more than 8,000 passenger cars off the road for an entire year, or conserving 4,317,988 gallons of gasoline.

"Most of the conversation regarding IT energy efficiency is focused on the data center, but PCs use a surprising amount of energy," said Doug Pearson, director of building services for the Madison Metropolitan School District. "Deploying Verdiem Surveyor has enabled us to centrally manage power consumption of our networked PCs and resulted in significant savings on our energy bills. Equally important for our IT staff is its quick and easy implementation and almost no ongoing maintenance."
