The City of Seattle has deployed Verdiem's Surveyor PC power management software across more than 30 City departments and 8,000 PCs, achieving an average reduction of energy consumption by more than 35 percent per PC.
Using Verdiem Surveyor, the city can centrally measure, manage and monitor its PC power consumption, all while enabling City departments to set and enforce their own PC power management policies. Some IT administrators were initially concerned that an automated power management solution on their network might negatively impact user productivity. Instead, they found Surveyor was easy to deploy and created no noticeable impact to employee productivity and satisfaction.
"The City of Seattle has set an ambitious agenda to address climate change, and the results we are achieving with Seattle-based Verdiem in reducing the City's PC energy consumption demonstrate, in a very tangible way, how we can collectively save on energy costs and protect our planet."
— Greg Nickels, Mayor of Seattle
