What versions of Microsoft Windows™ does Edison run on?

Edison runs on personal computers running the Microsoft Windows XP® operating system (with Service Pack 2 installed) and the Windows Vista™ operating system. There is currently no version of Edison for Mac- or Linux-based computers.

What are the minimum system requirements to run Edison?

The minimum system requirements for Edison are:

• Windows XP (Service Pack 2) or Windows Vista
• 256MB RAM
• Microsoft Internet Explorer® 5.01 or later
• 7MB free hard disk space

Can I install Edison on more than one computer?

Yes, please consider using Edison to save energy on any computers that you may have at home and work.

Why does Edison need to communicate with Verdiem servers?

In order for Edison to enable you to save energy, it must communicate anonymous information to Verdiem about the computer on which it is installed, including the computer's age, make, model, and some of the components that it runs. This information allows Verdiem to communicate back to Edison what the energy savings potential could be. Edison uses this information to help ensure that you get accurate reports and savings projections.

How do I uninstall Edison?

To uninstall Edison, simply go to Add/Remove Programs in your Windows Control Panel. Select Edison and click "Remove." Uninstall should take moments to complete.
